Builder George Hill won the 1979 Don and Benita Rope sports contributor award in 1979 and was honoured when the Cambridge Sports Awards named the annual team of the year award the George Hill Award.

Hill spent many years helped develop minor sport in Cambridge in a variety of sports such as football, hockey, baseball and ringette.
